Spooky Violin
Fall is the perfect time of year to play some spooky violin music!
Week 1: In the Hall of the Mountain King
Level: Easy
Tip: Make sure to play this really slowly to start, gradually get faster, and eventually double all the notes as sixteenths.

Week 2: Vitali Chaconne
Level: Advanced
Tip: This is a long piece but can be broken into essentially a theme and variations. Try learning one chunk at a time!
Week 3: Toccata and Fugue
Level: Intermediate
Tip: This isn’t originally for violin but don’t let that worry you... the theme is super recognizable on any instrument!
Week 4: Dance Macabre
Level: Early Intermediate
Tip: Organize your notes and rhythms before you worry about bowings.
Week 5: La Folia
Level: Intermediate Sections, Overall Advanced
Tip: Another minor and vibe-y theme and variations. I am new to this Kreisler version and can’t wait to try it!
Week 6: Devil’s Trill
Level: Advanced
Tip: I tell all of my students this- learn trills AFTER you learn the rhythms and notes. This helps you build the music structure first before ornamenting.
